Objectives

The objective of this validation article is to investigate flux barrier effects on flux density harmonics as done in the article [R1]. The type of flux barrier studied here is a barrier at the back of stator slots. Flux barrier can indeed be used as a noise control technique of electrical machines.

One can see that the harmonic effect of flux barriers obtained with MANATEE agrees well with [R1].

Flux barriers can be easily studied in MANATEE software, in particular as a noise and vibration control technique in electric machines.
