Electromagnetic and vibro-acoustic simulation of squirrel-cage induction machines

This tutorial shows how to simulate the vibroacoustic behaviour of an inner rotor, three-phase radial flux, 36-slot / 3-pole squirrel cage induction machine (SCIM) with 28 slots using MANATEEĀ® software under Matlab environment. This tutorial can be used with the demonstration version or with a full version of MANATEE software.

All the results presented in this tutorial are carried using MANATEE v1.06.03

In MANATEE the base of any computation is two scripts: one for the simulation and one for the machine. The GUI allows to generate these scripts easily but you can also edit directly the scripts (for advanced features mostly). During this tutorial we will present both ways. This tutorial assumes that you are familiar with MANATEE GUI or with Matlab environment and that MANATEE has been correctly installed.

All the machine and simulation data file presented in this tutorial are available in the folders MachineData/Demo/ and Projects/Demo/tuto_SCIM. The script names are (for instance) machine_SCIM_A.m and tuto_SCIM_25.m. You should not use the same names when doing the tutorial by yourself, otherwise some conflicts may occur between your own tutorial scripts and the reference tutorial scripts.

Note that most of these files are "simplified projects" and "simplified machines": every tutorial case is a small variation of the first simulation and first machine. The "simplified scripts" contain only the parameters used in that tutorial case and therefore you can’t load them with the GUI. The only project you can load with the GUI is tuto_SCIM_01 which is the reference project for all the tutorial.
