How to cancel stator or rotor mmf space harmonics?

In order to cancel all stator mmf space harmonics and keep only the stator mmf fundamental (keeping the fundamental unchanged), one can put :

Input.Simu.is_ideal_mmfs = 1;

Similarly, in order to impose a sinusoidal rotor mmf :

Input.Simu.is_ideal_mmfr = 1;

One can check that the stator mmf does not contain space harmonics any more using plot_smmf_space (or plot_rmmf_space for the rotor). The effect on the noise sound level can be obtained using plot_VS_ASPL_overall.

Use cases of this feature can be found in the tutorial section. The following figure illustrates how MANATEE can cancel all winding space harmonics while keeping the fundamental mmf magnitude unchanged:

Cancelling space harmonics of rotor or stator field allows to quickly check if they are responsible for noise generation. This is a useful tool when diagnosing magnetic noise and vibration issue of electric machines.
