Features

Topology
  • Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine (WRSM) is now available (including damper bar) specifying rotor and stator currents
  • New slot types 60 and 61 for WRSM machine rotor
  • New slot type 15 (outer lamination only)
  • Possibility to put or not a magnetic wedge for each slot using Input.Geometry.is_wedges vector
  • Possibility to enforce the magnet or winding mass
  • Automated winding algorithm (start of slots) corrected for Zs/2pqs=1/2 fractional slot winding
Electromagnetics
  • Possibility to calculate equivalent magnetotive forces (MMF) after subdomain (SDM) calculations (plot_cpermeancemmf_sdm.m)
  • New method for rotor cage MMF computation based on SDM using comp_cmmf_SDM2D.m (type_rmmf_model = 3)
  • Possibility to enforce airgap flux distribution (e.g. coming from third party electromagnetic software) at variable speed
  • Possibility to simplify the machine definition when importing the airgap flux distribution
  • Possibility to include stator notches in SDM
Mechanics
  • Frequency Response Function based on unit rotating waves is now fully automated with OptiStruct
  • Orthotropic material (from matlib material library) is now automatically defined in OptiStruct
  • Possibility to run a radial and tangential FRF wave simulation with a single call to OptiStruct (is_rad = 2)
  • Modal Assurance Criterion (MAC) calculations to identify cylindrical modes of the stator stack
Acoustics
  • Possibility to add a room constant in Input.Simu.room_cstt for sound pressure level calculation including reverberation
Sensitivity study
  • Possibility to make sensitivity study on material properties (e.g. "Wedge_mu" input variable automatically changes "mu" property of the "Wedge" material)
  • Possibility to run a sensitivity study on natural frequencies with type_natfreq_sensitivity=1

Post-Processing

  • plot_Vr_fft_linear: plots the average radial dynamic velocity spectrum on the outer structure of the machine in linear scale
  • plot_VS_Vr_modal_cont: plots the variable vibration level with modal participation factors
  • New colormaps added
  • Possibility to use Dewesoft colormap and use same linear scale with input.plot.is_logscale_dewesoft=1
  • Colors used for modal participation factor now in agreement with colors of 2D FFTs
  • plot_Fmag_teeth has been renamed to plot_Fteeth_machine
  • plot_Fmag_teeth_fft has been renamed to plot_Fteeth_machine_fft
