Quantities | Natural frequencies |
Geometry | Internal rotor Opened rectangular slot |
Winding | Without winding |
The FEA model under GetDP includes transverse isotropic properties of the stator lamination. The applied boundary conditions are free/free but some other conditions can be applied (e.g. free/campled, or campled/campled). The winding is here modelled as an additional mass in the slots.
Machine
This validation simulates the MANATEE default induction machine.

Remarks and interpretation
The first order elements used in FEA for a fast calculation are stiffer than the second order ones, which explains larger natural frequencies compared to the analytical model. As the lamination is generally stiffened by weldings, bars, or ribs along the circumference, the FEA modal analysis give closer results to experiments.
