Electromagnetic semi-analytical module for squirrel cage induction machines (EM2.SCIM)


Calculates the airgap rotor and stator radial and tangential flux density time and space distribution based on subdomain model. Includes and fractional slot windings. Limited to polar geometries with semi opened slots.

Application to e-NVH

Subdomain models have the advantage of being extremely fast compared to purely numerical techniques, although they generally assume infinite permeability of the iron. In induction machines, they can be use to quickly sweep different rotor slot numbers to find the best slot combination in terms of torque ripple, average torque and electromagnetic noise.
