Numerical challenges of CAE-based design of electric motor sound under electromagnetic excitations – application with MANATEE software on Tesla models (Nov 2020)

On November 12, (11:15 am - 11:45 am CET), EOMYS contributes to the asc simpulseday - NVH Simulation for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Powertrain with a presentation prepared by Jean Le Besnerais.
The content reviews the numerical challenges of the virtual prototyping of electric motor noise and vibration under Maxwell forces (e-NVH) such as force calculation methods, computing time, spectral leakage and sound quality. Some examples of these challenges are illustrated using MANATEE simulation software on Tesla induction and PM synchronous motors.
